Photofiltre or Photoshop?

Are you familiar with Photofiltre, the image editing software created in 2001? Its features can look strangely like those of Photoshop. We offer you a comparison of their functionalities and the opinions of users so that you can decide between these two softwares.

Photofiltre – a software not so simple

So we are presenting Photofiltre as a simple and easy to use image editing software. As its name indicates, it essentially allows you to use filters to give artistic effects to your photos (for example pointillism, watercolor, etc.). After it is enriched with new features; it allows automatic filling or layers. This software is now available free of charge. Users made many criticisms:

  • Aging ergonomics with an impressive number of buttons, giving the impression of clutter
  • Poor vector image management
  • Tutorials that install advertising software on your computer.

Then the only way to get a little more functionality is to pay for the license. However, graphic experts agree that Photofiltre is useful for photo retouching enthusiasts provided that they make very simple modifications.

Photoshop: a professional software

This software no longer needs introductions. As every graphic designer, professional, or amateur photographer knows; Photoshop is incomparable to Photofiltre. It contains a number of impressive features, and all are very useful. From layer management through fusion mode to color management etc.

Its synergy with other software in the Adobe suite, such as Lightroom or Photoshop Element, gives it power that no software can compete with.

Unlike Photofiltre, Photoshop allows you to modify every detail of your images, which is difficult (if not impossible) to do in other software.

That’s why Lightroom and Photoshop Tutorials focuses on training in Photoshop rather than Photofiltre. You might as well learn software that does everything! We offer our online Photoshop training that will allow you to quickly become self-sufficient at the following link: ADOBE PHOTOSHOP COURSE

Photofiltre or Photoshop? Not really comparable!

As you will have noticed, the choice between Photofiltre and Photoshop is not difficult to make.

So Photoshop is the most widely used photo editing software in the world, and certainly for a good reason. Photoshop is more expensive than Photofiltre, but the results will be much better.

Consequently, if you are a beginner who does not have major corrections to make, you can learn to use Photofiltre. But as soon as you start wanting to get more technical, you will be forced to learn how to use Photoshop. So you might as well save time and go straight to Photoshop!

You now know the difference between Photoshop and Photofiltre.

Furthermore, give us your opinion and share your experience in the comments.

Have a nice photoshoot!
